The work attempts to transform the idea of the distribution of knowledge. The digital age has diluted the value of the written word through modes such as PDFs and social media, altering the previous perception that books are classified repositories of knowledge and imagination.
We now re-read books in a new way, so that the transfer of knowledge gets corrupted by time and by the holder, and the story changes.
By altering, distorting and corrupting the books literally, then confining them within a bolted metal binding I am conveying a metaphor for how knowledge is corrupted, altered and transformed.
